January 2017. ICE donates to Army UH-1C Huey Gunship Restoration Effort. The Army Aviation Heritage Foundation (AAHF) has begun to restore an Army UH-1C Huey Gunship with complete armament systems (demilitarized) including 40mm, twin mini guns, rocket pods, and twin M60 machine guns. Inter-Coastal Electronics has donated an indoor space to the organization for this effort. The restored static aircraft will be displayed at the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Museum in Mesa, Arizona to support Army Aviation history, and to help Vietnam Veterans to better relate their Vietnam experiences. The CAF does not have a Huey or Cobra in the entire organization. At this stage, the external panels, doors, seats, rotors, and most of the instrumentation has been removed. The next step is to thoroughly clean the aircraft and prepare for painting.
April 29 2016. ICE completed delivery of six Training Laser Designators for Lockheed Martin for the MTADS Phase III upgrade to the Modernized Day-Side Assembly (M-DSA) on the AH-64D/E.
March 7-10, 2016. The Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) visits ICE at Fort Hood for training on the Longbow Apache Helicopter with ICE's Tactical Engagement Simulation System (TESS) and Battalion Set with ground targets, support equipment, and After Action Review.

November 2015. ICE completed delivery of five LUH Offensive Weapons Capability Kits for the UH-72A helicopter. Integrated components included a FlashWESS Laser Transmitter, Articulating Sensor Package, and Weapons Processor with Hand Controller.
August 2015. ICE awarded Homestation Instrumenation Training System (HITS) Integration of Aviation Capabilities for integrating the ICE AH-64D Longbow Apache Tactical Engagement Simulation System (LBA-TESS) with the HITS.
August 2015. ICE selected as "2015 Top Simulation & Training Company" by Military Training Technology (MT2) Magazine for second year. "Selected companies are from around the world and have made significant impacts on the military training and simulation industries across a vast array of technologies. These companies' products allow U.S. airmen, Marines, sailors, soldiers and Coast Guardsmen to train and rehearse for missions in theater, or to prepare for deployment at home station. August 2015. ICE passed both ISO and DCMA Audits with no findings!
May 2015. Spares delivery completed for Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) Longbow Apache TESS to include one set of LBA-TESS B-Kit spares and one Boresight Kit.
April 14, 2015. ICE teamed with GDC4S under CPM to conduct an Aviation HITS Technical Study to evaluate integrating legacy LBA-TESS into the fielded Homestation Instrumentation Training System (HITS).
December 20, 2014. Spares delivery completed for Kuwait Air Force Longbow Apache TESS to include one set of LBA-TESS B-Kit spares, Boresight Kit, Mobile Target Training System, and Telemetry Repeater System.
October 1, 2014. Six Longbow Apache TESS B-Kits delivered to the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF).
September 2014. Delivery completed for the Instrumented Ranges/Digital Range Training System (IR/DRTS) at Fort Bliss, TX.
September 2014. Successful ISO Recertification Audit
ICE successfully completed another ISO 9001:2008 Recertification Audit. The audit was performed by Great Western Registrar and passed with many complements to ICE for our Quality Management System (QMS), stating this is "some of the best teamwork we have seen." ICE maintains ISO conformance for continous improvement and Customer Satisfaction.
July 15, 2014. Acceptance testing completed for the Launcher Instrumentation and Data Acquisition System (LIDAS) on the M270A1 MLRS launcher and HIMARS launcher.
June 27, 2014. Delivered 40 Aviation TESS UH-60M Blackhawk Conversion Kits. Aviation TESS provides an integrated instrumented training capability at all three U.S. Army Combat Training Centers.
June 2014. Contract award for Apache M-TADS Training Laser Designator (TLD)
ICE is awarded a contract by Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control for development of a Training Laser Designator (TLD) for the Apache Attack Helicopter, AH-64D/E, Modernized Target Acquisition Designation System (M-TADS) Modernized Day Sensor Assembly (M-DSA). The TLD is a self-contained unit that consists of a 904nm wavelength Laser to simulate target designation. The TLD unit interfaces with the ICE Tactical Engagement Simulation System (TESS) Training Laser Interface Adapter (TLIA), and the aircraft Day Sensor Electronics Unit (DEU), and M-TADS system.
June 6, 2014. The Army Aviation Data Management System (AADMS) Lifecycle Replacement Program was delivered to Ft. Irwin, CA, U.S. Army National Training Center (NTC). The Product Manager for Combat Training Instrumentation Systems (PM CTIS) provided a written thank you to ICE stating, "Everyone did an outstanding job in a tough environment under limited windows of time. The end result is a system that has passed all elements of an extensive government acceptance test to include rotational support for two rotations and has greatly enhanced aircraft coverage at NTC. This system replaced 7 towers that were non-operational with a five tower footprint that improved coverage. The added coverage also improves the training feedback, tracking and safety oversight of aircraft to improve our soldiers readiness when called upon. Everyone here should be proud of a job well done."
March 2014. Contract Award for Netherlands Ground-based TESS
ICE is awarded a direct sales contract from the Netherlands Ministry of Defense for the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) "to continue training the RNLAF helicopter crews as provided by ICE at Fort Hood, TX, by means of the AH-64D Longbow Apache TESS and Ground-based TESS. Providing training in tactics, techniques and procedures, the Ground-based TESS simulation system can be used in Europe and other parts of the world where engagement of targets is possible." Delivery includes ground vehicle instrumentation for simulated attacks, Control and AAR centre, a Telemetry network, and onsite support and training.
September 25, 2013. Contract award for LUH-TESS Offensive Weapons Capabilities
ICE is awarded contract by PEO STRI for the development, production, fielding and integration of seventeen target acquisition and Shootback capability system components to be integrated as an upgrade with the Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) Tactical Engagement Simulation System (TESS) Instrumentation Kits currently installed on the LUH Lakota UH-72A Aircraft (manufactured by American Eurocopter (AE) located at the Maneuver Combat Training Centers (MCTCs).
September 20, 2013. Contract award for UH-60 & CH-47 Aviation TESS
PEO STRI, PM TRADE and PM LTS has a requirement for modifying supplemental components to the existing Universal TESS B-kit (UH-60A-L and CH-47D) for the UH-60M and the CH-47F aircraft to support force-on-force (FOF) and force-on-target (FOT) training at U.S. Army Combat Training Centers (CTCs) and ranges. Digitization of the UH-60 and CH-47 series aircraft require modifications of Universal B-kit components, specifically installation brackets, cable lengths, and connection interfaces between the existing Modular SMODIM, and the aircraft. AV-TESS consists of components provisioned on the aircraft (A-kit) and components appended to the aircraft (B-kit) that are interoperable with the Instrumentation System (IS) through existing Army Aviation Data Management Subsystem (AADMS) network.
September 16, 2013. Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract award for Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) Longbow Apache TESS to include six LBA-TESS B-kits, one boresight support kit, one set of TESS spares, and updates to existing manuals to reflect current LBA-QTESS configuration.
August 2013. ICE improves Business and Operational Controls with EPICOR ERP
ICE is pleased to announce continuous reinvestment to our corporate infrastructure to be more responsive to our customer base. ICE’s implementation of EPICOR’s next-generation Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is complete, replacing our current ERP System to expand capabilities, flexibility and efficiencies. The selection of EPICOR 9 makes ICE more efficient, providing a stable system to support growth while reducing individual employee workload. Reducing employee workload and facilitating future growth were major factors in the selection process.
May 2013. Contract for Consolidated Product-line Management (CPM) DO#4 Digital Range Training Systems (DRTS) Aviation Data Analysis, awarded by General Dynamics C4 Systems Battle Management Systems. This effort is to conduct analysis of the data available from the Smart Onboard Data Interface Module (SMODIM), identifying data parameters and source, and recommending additional data and data sources for the DRTS for Aviation Assets. "ICE has developed the SMODIM which integrates with Air and Ground Vehicles to provide collective Force-on-Force participation and weapons systems training. The data from the SMODIM is required for a high quality training experience for aviation assets using the IR."
May 30, 2013. ICE awarded contract by Precision Fires Rocket and Missile Systems for Launcher Instrumentation and Data Acquisition System (LIDAS) on the M270A1 MLRS launcher and HIMARS launcher.
December 2012. Contract for Support of Instrumented Ranges Digital Range Training System (IR/DRTS) DO#5. ICE is awarded this contract by Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Training. The intent of the Instrumented Ranges / Digital Range Training System (IR/DRTS) effort is to provide dynamic, modular and scalable solutions to fulfill various aspects of individual, collective, and combined arms training. The IR/DRTS may encompass more than traditional going-to-war training; it also addresses other-than-war operations (such as peacekeeping missions), and homeland defense and anti-terrorism scenarios. The IR/DRTS will support both fixed permanent and non-permanent structure facilities, allow for the integration across sites and mission domains (Live, Virtual, and Constructive), and support the continuation of instrumentation and data processing growth commensurate with tactical systems.
November 7, 2012. ICE delivered 11 LUH-TESS Observer/Controller Kits for the UH-72A Lakota Light Utility Helicopter.
November 2012. Contract Award for Aviation Homestation Interim Package (AHIP)
ICE is working with Meggit Defense Systems and Riptide to develop the AHIP Modular Aviation Gunner After Action Review (AG AAR) package. AHIP is an interim solution to enhance Army aviation gunnery training until new Digital Air-Ground Integration Ranges (DAGIR) can be built. The AG AAR includes integrating software data from the Apache AH-64D helicopter, proprietary software from the Aerial Weapons Scoring System (AWSS), the range target scoring data, LongBow Apache-Tactical Engagement Simulation System (LBA-TESS) data, and cockpit video, into a single display in order to review/record/replay training exercises performed on an MPRC. The modular AG AAR package will synchronize information from these multiple sources and systems to allow reviewing of training exercises on a common platform in a classroom environment. AHIP will be delivered to Ft Drum, Ft Hood, Ft Stewart, Ft Knox, and Grafenwoehr Germany.
October 25, 2012. ICE delivered 28 Longbow Apache TESS systems with ground support equipment and spares for the Taiwan TESS contract.
April 28, 2011. ITAS-TESS FTS LOT VII
ICE is awarded contract by PEO STRI for 153 Improved Target Acquisition System - Tactical Engagement Simulation System Field Training System (ITAS-TESS FTS) to be delivered in 2012. At program completion, 525 units will be delivered to the US Army. The ITAS-TESS trainer is previously fielded to fifteen CONUS and three OCONUS US Army locations.
The ITAS-TESS FTS is a laser-based system that accurately replicates flight of the TOW missile system including fly-out in the gunner’s sight. This system is designed to conduct simulated weapons engagement during individual and collective force-on-force training missions using normal tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs). The Vehicle Area Network (VAN) removes cabling from the interior of the vehicle platform, reduces installation time and system assemblies, and provides increased flexibility with a wireless network.
April 2011. KIOWA CASUP TESS
ICE is awarded contract by PEO STRI to provide Tactical Engagement Simulation System (TESS) kits for the Kiowa Warrior (KW) Cockpit and Sensor Upgrade Program (CASUP) for the US Army, to include six systems by March 2015 with an option for two additional sets. The KW CASUP live training system is interoperable with the existing Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement Systems (MILES) and Longbow Apache Tactical Engagement Simulation System (LBA TESS) Homestation instrumentation system. KW CASUP TESS simulates the offensive and vulnerability characteristics of the aircraft when operated with existing MILES. KW CASUP TESS simulates Semi-Active Laser (SAL) Hellfire Missile, 2.75” Hydra rockets, and 50 caliber gun weapons engagements during live training. The simulation data provided by KW CASUP TESS will be used to support the Limited User Test (LUT) and Operational Test (OT) evaluations.
June 24, 2010. ICE delivered the Exportable Training Capability – Instrumentation System (ETC-IS) to its customer and the U.S. Army. Based at the National Training Center in Ft. Irwin, CA, the ETC-IS is the world's only sea/land/air transportable Maneuver Combat Training Center (MCTC) designed to facilitate Homestation training of asymmetrical Force-on-Force engagements.
February 2009. Contract for Sky Eagle (Taiwan) Longbow Apache TESS to deliver mission essential equipment and spares, and provide one year Contractor Logistical Support (CLS). This effort also includes the development and qualification of the LBA TESS Eye Safe Laser Range Finder/Designator (ESLRF/D) and TESS Gun Control Unit (TGCU). The LBA TESS B-Kit will be installed on Sky Eagle Block III AH-64D aircraft installed with AN/AVR-2B laser detecting sets.
